Engineering Lab

Show the implementation. Separate observation from opinion.

The Lab is where we take a technical claim and point at the behavior underneath it. These are not generic tutorials. They are reproducible notes based on implementation patterns in this repository and anonymized production work.

Each note states the question, the observed finding, the source of evidence, and the limits of what the evidence can prove.

Implementation evidence you can inspect

The Lab will grow when there is a real behavior worth measuring or demonstrating, not because the site needs another publishing category.

Lab 01

Deferred analytics and the critical rendering path

A repository-level test of how delaying the external analytics script until interaction or an eight-second fallback keeps it off the earliest page-loading path.

Lab 02

Preview indexing as an environment-level rule

A direct verification of how preview deployments receive an X-Robots-Tag noindex header while production keeps public indexing behavior.

Lab 03

Source-aware sitemap modification dates

A reproducible look at how Git history and page source relationships produce sitemap lastmod dates instead of stamping every URL with deployment time.

Lab 04

A narrow Client Component around a server-rendered navigation

A concrete example of keeping navigation markup server rendered while isolating scroll, mega-menu, dialog, focus, and mobile interaction behavior in one client enhancer.

Lab 05

What the release QA matrix actually checks

A transparent look at the representative browser routes, desktop and mobile viewports, Lighthouse thresholds, and failure conditions in the release QA workflow.

Lab 06

Scaling dozens of documents through one route system

How a single documentation route, a taxonomy file, MDX content, static params, shared metadata, and generated navigation can scale a large public technical library.
