Pest control

Pest Zapper: spare the bees.

A whack-a-mole on a honeycomb that we built into a pest control company's website, shown here with the client's name taken out. Zap the pests, spare the bees, and chain hits for combos while the clock speeds up every level.

Takes about a minute. Free, no sign-up, works on a phone.

Instructions

How to play

Score as many points as you can before the clock runs out. Hits buy you time, so a good run can go on for minutes.

  1. Open the game

Press Play Pest Zapper. The game opens full screen with a countdown and a 45-second clock.

  2. Zap the pests

Ants, spiders, mice, wasps and rats pop out of the honeycomb. Zap them before they escape. Rats take two hits.

  3. Spare the bees

Honeybees are on your team. Zapping one costs you points and breaks your streak.

  4. Buy time and chain combos

Each hit adds time to the clock, and every level adds five seconds. Chain zaps for score multipliers while the clock speeds up.

Tips

  • A miss, an escaped pest or a zapped bee resets your combo. Accuracy beats speed.
  • Rats and wasps are worth more points and more time.
  • Your best score saves in this browser, and every round can be shared as a challenge link.
  • Want to see a perfect run? Let the pro play.

Why it works

Why it works for a pest control company

Pest control sites tend to look alike, and visitors compare a few before they call. This game gives one company a personality people remember and repeat.

  • The game is the brand

This client's whole identity is built on video games and heroes. A slogan says that. A game you can play proves it, and it's what people remember about them when every other pest company's site looks the same.

  • It teaches their values without a lecture

Honeybees show up on the board and cost you points if you zap them. Players learn that this company protects pollinators without reading a paragraph about it.

  • The pro is the final boss

The top high score belongs to the pro at 100% eradication, and "Let the pro play" shows them clearing the board without a miss. The takeaway is simple: you can't out-zap a professional.

  • People come back to beat their score

One hundred named tiers, a saved best score and challenge links give players a reason to return and to send the site to friends.

  • Easter eggs get talked about

On the client's site the game is hidden behind the Konami code, with a hint in the footer. A secret worth finding gives people something to tell their friends about.
